Obituary of Mary J. D. D. Muir

Passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at age 92.  Mary was predeceased by her husband, Andrew.  She is survived by her sons, John (Pat) Muir, Malcolm (Anne) Muir; grandchildren, James, Nathan, David, Kelsey & Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Colin & Kathleen; nieces, nephews and friends.
Services and Interment will be held privately.

Mary was born in Scotland, and lived with her parents and one sister in Kettle, Fife. Married Andrew Muir in 1948. They lived in Canada, England and California before settling in Pittsford, NY with their two sons, John and Malcolm. Mary and Drew enjoyed golfing and were members of Penfield Country Club. They also enjoyed exploring the surrounding Finger Lakes Region, and would often take off on their bicycles for a day trip. Mary continued to bike until she was 84 years old! Mary was also active in bowling and gardening. She loved to knit, and made many beautiful garments for the family and eventually for her five grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, the kids loved her cookies and pies especially. When Drew retired from Burroughs, they volunteered with an organization that helped small businesses get off the ground in developing countries. They spent several months each year in places like Egypt, Brazil, Indonesia and Zimbabwe. They enjoyed travelling to many other countries including Portugal, China, Japan and Australia.
