Obituary of Bahjat S. Beshty

Passed away on Friday, March 16 at home. Bahjat is survived by his wife of 42 years, Michelle; his sons Walead B Beshty of Los Angeles, Ca and Tariq B Beshty of Pittsford, NY; his 4 sisters Farida, Siehem, Suad and Nahjat and his brother Adel Beshty all of Tripoli, Libya, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bahjat was born in July 1938 in Tripoli, Libya to Sadek and Oasha Beshty. He earned degrees from University College, London (BSc); University of Birmingham (MSc); Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MSc); Imperial College, London (PhD;DIC). His primary academic and occupational focus was chemical engineering research, holding numerous patents in combustion and catalysis, in addition to pharmaceutical process design, but his personal interests spanned all sciences especially particle physics.
