Arnold "Arnie" Lewis passed April 16, 2018. He was born May 21, 1938 in Blue Island Illinois to Lincoln "Grant" and Beatrice (Alm) Lewis, who predeceased him. It is in Blue Island that he met his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 60 years, Alice Friebel. Together Arnold and Alice raised six children, James (Kathy), John (Sue), Deborah (Rod) Davis, Robert (Vicky), David (Rowena), and Timothy (Heather). Arnold is predeceased by his sister Marge Walsh, and survived by his sisters Nancy Vanderwall, and Jayne Stork. He has also been blessed with multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arnold began a life supporting the Boy Scouts very early as a 19 year old scoutmaster of Troop 782 in Blue Island. Later he moved to Carpentersville, IL as his family continued to grow. Eventually he moved with Xerox to the Rochester, NY suburb of Henrietta, where he has lived for the last 50 years. While residing in Henrietta, Arnold founded Boy Scout Troop 481 that met at Winslow elementary, which later transitioned to troop 750 meeting at Pinnacle Lutheran Church. In the late 1970's Arnold began his service to the community of Henrietta as a volunteer at Henrietta Volunteer Ambulance. With over 9500 hours of volunteer service, and many years in leadership positions there, he was a life member. In more recent years, Arnold has found great satisfaction serving the homebound of the greater Rochester community through delivery of Meals-on-Wheels. While his true lifelong passion was fishing, mostly in the Thousand Islands region, Arnold has also enjoyed many years of singing with the choir at Pinnacle Lutheran Church. His family is very proud of his selfless commitment to the community of Henrietta, and Monroe County through his lifetime of volunteering. Arnie was particularly proud to see those under his wing grow to take on leadership roles of their own.
