Obituary of John C. Winters

John C. Winters, IV Sodus Bay: John C. Winters IV, 71, died on Saturday, April 3, 2010 after a 2 year battle with lung cancer. Mr. Winters is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, John C. Winters V and Daniel (wife Jen) Winters; daughter, Lisa (husband Brad) Sponsel; 6 grandchildren; sister, Linda Cannon of Geneseo; 2 nephews & 3 nieces. Mr. Winters was raised in Mt. Morris, NY and earned a Bachelors degree in Education and Math from the State Universty of NY at Geneseo. He was a dedicated employee of Eastman Kodak from 1961 to 1995, retiring as a Project Controls Engineer. He lived in Rochester and Gates for many years before enjoying his retirement at houses on Conesus Lake, and Sodus Bay. Dedicated to the sport of fishing, Mr. Winters was very knowledgable about both fresh and salt-water fishing, owned a series of fishing boats, and avidly fished the Finger Lakes, Sodus Bay, and the Florida Gulf waters. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Miller Funeral; Homes, Inc., 3325 Winton Rd,. South, where Services will be held in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Interment, Mumford Rural Cemetery.
