Obituary of Robert P. Price

Price, Robert Perry “Peter” Pittsford: Pete passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on June 14, 2015, after an eight year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Geri Buck Price, sons, Robert (Colleen) Price, Douglas Price, Brian (RoseAnn) Price, and Rooker (Shannon) Price. Pete is also survived by eight Price grandchildren; Peter, Andrew, Kevin, Scott, Mickey, Liam, Caitlin, and Bridget, sisters; Polly (Bernie) Barrett, Penny (Jim) Ferry, Patty (Ray) Bowers and brothers-in-law; Douglas (RuthAnn) Buck and Charles (Carol) Buck and sister-in-law Carol Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friend, Todd Fogel. Pete was predeceased by his foster brother, John Nelson, brother-in-law, Jeffery Buck, and niece, Morgan Fieri. Pete, son of Henry and Elizabeth Price was born in Evanston Illinois, on November 29, 1941. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1963 as a Civil Engineer and received his MBA from the University of North Carolina in 1965. Pete first worked as a salesman for Union Carbide in Detroit before joining Xerox in 1968. During his 32 year career with Xerox, he worked in Finance in Rochester and the Latin American group in CT. Pete's community activities included President of Pop Warner football in Weston, CT and track and field coach for the Fairfield County, CT Special Olympics. Pete proudly mentored two boys from Rochester through their school years. Upon retirement, he volunteered at Rochester SCORE, served on the Board of the American Liver foundation and Rochester's Board of Habitat for Humanity where he raised over $850,000 in grant money. Pete was awarded the Michael D. Spoleta Humanitarian Award by the American Cancer Society in 2013. In retirement, Pete loved visiting grandchildren, golf, biking, skiing and photography. Friends may call Monday, June 22nd from 10-11 at The Church of the Transfiguration, 50 West Bloomfield Rd, Pittsford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter's name to Rochester Bethany House, 1111 Joseph Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 or Horizons at Harley – Summer Program, 1981 Clover Street, Rochester, NY 14618.
