Obituary of Eldred M. Sale

Sale, Eldred M. Victor: Eldred M. Sale, age 87, of 143 Maple Avenue, Victor, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. He was the son of Frederick and Pearle McCormick Sale. He is survived by his two cherished daughters, Pamela Sale of Victor and Alison Sale of Glastonbury, CT; also a special cousin, Josephine Sale of East Hartford, CT.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley De Cracker Sale; daughter, Sally Sale Toomey; brother, F. Marsden Sale; sister, Maxine Sale Valore. A native and life-long resident of Victor, he was a graduate of Victor High School and Rochester Business Institute. In 1978, he retired as Senior Vice President of Canandaigua National Bank after 40 years of service at their Victor office. A U. S. Army Veteran, he served in the 10th Mountain Division during the Italian Campaign in World War II, followed by service in the Korean Conflict. He was a member and served on many boards, including the F. F. Thompson Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, the Rochester American Red Cross, the Board of Directors of the Canandaigua National Bank for 33 years, the Boughton Hill Cemetery Association and the Victor Free Library. Eldred was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Victor, The Victor Lions Club, The Victor American Legion Post #931, The New York Bankers Association and the Ontario Bankers Association of which he was President. Eldred was co-founder of the West Ontario United Fund. Eldred's family would like to express their deep appreciation to Kevin McCormick MD and George Fox NP, for their compassionate care. A memorial service, celebrating Eldred's life will begin at 2 o'clock, Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Victor. Private inurnment will take place in Boughton Hill Cemetery, Victor.
