My first memory of Ben was on Thanksgiving at Micah and Tricia's house. He was a very handsome teenager. Spoke beautifully and was a pleasure to be around....The years rolled on and the next time I met him was at Micah and Tricia's Wedding and He had grown into a man. All the serving girls fell in love with him he was so handsome. We shall all miss him.

Ben and I were at the Harley School together from 5th through 7th grade. We lost touch after that but had just recently reconnected via Facebook. I was looking forward to getting to know him again, now that we were both "grown up" and getting to hear all about his adventures in the intervening years. His loss is so sudden and unexpected--he left us far too soon. My deepest sympathies for his close friends and family. Ben, you touched many lives and I dearly wish we had more time together.

Sad that I couldn't be at your memorial service yesterday but although I wasn't there Ben, you and your family were in my thoughts and prayers all day. The world will never be same without you. What a caring, warm, brilliant, thoughtful, funny, loving person you were. Whenever we spoke you always made me feel that whatever I was saying was the most fascinating thing you had ever heard. What a rare talent you were. Benjamin, I think you were just simply to good for this world. I will miss you friend. Be in peace.

I first met Ben when he was 2, or 3 years old and saw him sporadically as he grew in leaps and bounds to adulthood. I was lucky to get to know him a little as an adult, and always thought he was an outstanding individual. After reading his Bio I can now see how exceptional he really was. This is a tragic loss to his family and also to the community, but the community is a better place at having had him be a part of it.
Micah, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Carol and I first want to extend our warmest sympathies to Ann and Steve. Our memories of Benjamin are many. One that stands out was back when Benjamin was a teenager. We were all gathered in his front yard running our dogs and Benjamin was taping the activities. He made us all laugh when he stated "a gathering of dogs". A simple, pure statement that demonstrated his pure heart. He was a young man we always enjoyed talking to because of the respect and genuine heart that he always showed to us. Steve, Ann, and Micah our thoughts and prayers are with you. You raised a wonderful young man who will always be in our hearts.
From our hearts, Don and Carol Martino

I am saddened and shocked to hear of Ben's passing. I was blessed in getting to know him through the GVKC. Ben had so much knowledge and insight into so many avenues of life. He was a young man of many talents. I was looking forward to working with him on a project for GVKC's 75th anniversary. GOD must have needed you more in heaven than we did on earth. Rest well Ben, you'll always be remembered with great memories and smiles in all those whos' lives you touched.

We never personally knew your son Ben and can now only wish that we had. We've heard of his gentleness, kindness, talents and dedicated love of his family and pets.
Modern day society and our hectic, complicated, isolating lifestyles today have played a cruel trick on us all. We wave politely at our neighbors while going to the mailbox, mowing our lawns, driving to and from, while never truly taking the time to get to know them and socialize with them. Your tragic loss reminds us how precious and precarious life is and how relatively little time we have together on this earth.
Our deepest regrets and heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

I remember in kindergarten or 1st grade? He had a big halloween party. It was awesome. It's so hard to express words when something like this happens. They say 'the good die young'. I really don't like that saying. I'm quoting my favorite song by Celine Dion,
"Fly, fly little wing, Fly beyond imagining. The softest cloud, the whitest dove, Upon the wind of heaven’s love. Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours. Escape the sorrow and the pain and fly again. Fly, fly precious one, Your endless journey has begun. Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this.
Cross over to the other shore,
There is peace forevermore.
But hold this memory bittersweet, Until we meet…
Fly, fly do not fear, Don’t waste a breath, don’t shed a tear. Your heart is pure, your soul is free, Be on your way, don’t wait for me. Above the universe you’ll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set, But I won’t forget.
Fly, fly little wing, Fly where only angels sing. Fly away, the time is right, Go now, find the light." Heaven is truly blessed now. We love you Ben, and we will miss you. Till we meet again.

From the moment I met you in 7th grade, I knew you were fascinating, someone I just had to be friends with! You were wiser than your years. You were kind, talented, full of insight. I am so sorry that we never got our chance to enjoy the French toast at the Chit Chat. I thank you for your friendship and support. I will cherish the memories always.
I am reminded of a passage from John Donne's Meditation XVII:
And when she buries a man, that action concerns me: all mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but God's hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another.
Your chapter wasn't finished, my friend. And for that, I am saddened.
