My Mom, My Teacher, My Friend - Patty Riegle
My mom did great raising us four,
Taking care of us, at times was a chore.
She let us know what was wrong or was right,
And made us behave with nary a fight.
My Sunday School teacher was once her role,
This one memory is good for my soul.
Mom taught me to sew and to bake and to sing,
Doing these tasks alone now will sting.
Her help never faded as I grew older,
When my four babies came, I needed a hand holder.
There was always an answer, suggestion or help,
To this new mom when I gave a yelp.
Shopping and sewing and playing with Sammi this year,
Were things we’d enjoyed as she lived quite near.
Much too soon this has come to an end,
She not only was my mom and my teacher, but especially my friend.
