For more than a year I had the reference shift after Daisyblue at the AVL/CVL library reference desk on Thursday evenings. I heard her voice often and we talked about cats on our keyboards and happenings in Second Life. She gave me good advice and moral support. Thursdays just will not be the same without her. My condolences and prayers go to her family.

Daisyblue, i miss you greatly, and will never forget lessons you've given me. in building, in creating clothes, in putting a smile on my face and in making my paws active, to make others smile as well. i'll miss you greatly here, but will look at every flower, and smile at you, because your light has added to the sunshine that makes the daisies grow.

Daisyblue played a key role in almost every library-related event I attended in SL. I was delighted with her walk-in-book in Bradburyville. I danced and was transported to the past in Land of Lincoln and listened to her patient, reassuring voice as she helped new avatars at the Stepping Into ... series of conferences. She touched and inspired me repeatedly. I am so grateful our virtual paths crossed.

DaisyBlue gave me advice from time to time when we started our Adelebsen Isle. She was also a fantastic fashion blogger for a bit.
But she never bragged about her long list of successes nor complained about her todo list. She just accomplished.
I am amazed to encounter people talking about her in so many diverse areas of Second Life. ... All good, of course :)

I have put the machinima online that Daisyblue worked with me on.
She scripted, made all the clothes, the Omani costumes, and most of the props were made by her too.
She then helped with the acting, and took many roles, where ever needed.
Her avatar is seen all through the film, which was made for breastcancer awareness for women in Oman. It helped explain to women what a mammogram is and can do, and raised funds for the Mobile Unit, which is travelling in Oman (rl) today, saving lives.
This film took 6 weeks to make, not an easy shoot at all, but Daisy's great sense of humour and her strong believe in what we were doing for women, made it worthwile - and we did well.
In the film, Daisyblue plays the following roles: Woman at picknicktable/Woman that gets a mammogram/pushes the wheelchair/sits in waitingroom/stands outside the hospital.
I am proud to have worked with Daisy, and want to share this machinima with her family and friends, as a brilliant memory of a special person.

Miss Me -- But Let Me Go
Unknown
------------------------------
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me--but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me--But Let me Go!

There needs to be a Declaration of Friendship that asserts that all friends are created equal - that they are not confined to so-called "Real Life" relationships. Friendships on paper or in pixels can be just as important. I treasure my memories of Daisyblue and mourn her loss as deeply as any flesh and blood friend.

Daisy, you were special. Thank you for your work in our Second Life community, and personally for your generosity and willingness to mentor a newbie. Your creativity and hard work brought Abe Lincoln and the Lincoln White House to life, as well as important health resources to our community. And so much more. Words are hard to find at this time, but the one I keep coming back to: irreplacable. My condolences to your real life family and friends. The souls you touched in Second Life miss you very much.

Christie, Joanne, and all of the family, I am so sorry about the sudden loss of your mom. She was a good friend. I worked with her at Red Jacket Library from almost the beginning. We enjoyed some of the same crafts/sewing projects, and I remember the sound of her laughter when we went out to see "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya-Sisterhood." She would almost always have a new cat story to share as well. She will be missed.
