Xanders first birthday! We all had so much fun and just enjoyed being together! I remember me and mom picked up Grandma Ann & Duke at the airport arround midnight.(boy that was a long night! :]and I would do it again! ) Mom was driving the rental car with grandma and I had Duke. He asked me if he could smoke his pipe along the way. Knowing how much he loved his pipe and how long he had not had a smoke I was suckered I said sure! I remember the smile on his face and it was worth it! He always treated me so wonderful. I love you Grandpa Duke!!

I remember the wonderful summer holidays and how much Duke enjoyed the sweet deserts I brought. He always made me aware that he enjoyed the sweets after our fantastic meals on Cheryl's front patio. He is at peace and can keep eyes on us all now. May the strength of our loving God comfort his family.

Duke and I attended Genesee Jr College in Lima in 1949-50.
In fact we rode to school together. We both played on their basketball team and Duke
also proved to be a good football player for them too.
In later years I lost track of he and Ann, and often wondered where they were.
