Obituary of Janet Marlyn Rowan

Rowan, Janet Marlyn Janet Marlyn Rowan,76, of Dresden, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 after a brief & rapid battle with skin cancer (metastatic melanoma). Jan leaves behind loving daughter Marcy (John) Pembroke and grandson Jackson of Farmington, as well as extended family and dear friends. In keeping with Jan's wishes, no services are planned. She was a proud alumna of the University of Rochester. An avid reader with an inquisitive mind, Jan was a French teacher and later an elementary teacher at the SUNY Brockport Campus School before retiring to Seneca Lake and working as Town of Torrey Deputy Clerk. More recently, she enjoyed warm winters with snowbird friends in Ellenton, FL.
