Obituary of Thomas F. Ward

Thomas F. Ward Farmington: Beloved husband of Margaret S. Ward passed away quietly on February 28, 2014. He was born in Hartford CT on March 3, 1927, to the late Anna Cunningham and John J. Ward. Tom attended and graduated from Buckley High School. He enlisted in the Navy, serving abroad in the Philippines and Japan and sang in the Navy choir. He worked as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney in CT, where he fell in love with and married the love of his life, Peggi. Tom resided in Connecticut till his retirement years moving to Myrtle Beach SC and finally Farmington, NY. Tom was dedicated to his wife and family, and enjoyed time watching boxing. He is pre-deceased by his brother, John J. Ward; two sisters, Mary Callahan and Anna Moxeney and a great grandson. He leaves behind his daughter, Patricia (Gordon) McCarty and son, Thomas K. Ward. He will be also missed by his 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Tom was very close to his NY family the "Newtons," Gail (Gerald Sr.) Newton, Gerald Jr. (Jennifer), Chris (Kelly) Newton, Bradley (Amy) Newton and Wendy Newton and their children; Brianna, Dominique, Ben, Emily, Julia, Kara & Brayden. Friends may call locally at Lucey-VanVoorhis Funeral Home, 301 West Main Street, Victor on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 1 pm-2:30 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following. A separate Memorial Service will be held in CT for family & friends there. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, guests should donate in Tom's honor to a charity of their choosing.
