Obituary of Juergen G. Lein
Juergen Lein passed away on October 16th, 2018 with his beloved family by his side. Predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Waltraud Lein. Juergen is survived by his wife Elvira of 56 years, sons Tom (Kathy) and Norm (Heather Slough), four adored grandchildren, Christopher, Braden, Erika, and Alexander.
Juergen was born in Berlin, Germany, but grew up in Sindelfingen. He survived World War II, graduated from high school and did his apprenticeship at Daimler Benz for Tool and Die. Then he went to engineering school in Esslingen and belonged to the fraternity Suevia. After graduating in 1958 he emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio. He worked at Addressograph for nine years and then moved the family to Rochester, NY, where he worked and retired from ITEK after 25 years. During his career he received 9 patents. He was an active member of the German Danube Society where he served as president for 4 years and stayed a supportive member until the club’s closing in 2017. He volunteered as Recording Secretary at the German-American Society and received the Citizen of The Year award in 1996. He believed in keeping the German heritage alive in the US and was dedicated to that effort. The family would like to thank LifeTime Care, especially his nurse JoAnna, for their care, as well as Dr. Michael Schneider and Brian Adcock, who were his long time health care providers.
