Obituary of George D. Cameron, Jr.
On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, George Daniel Cameron Jr, loving father of 6 children, passed away at the age of 70. George was born on August 24, 1948 to George Cameron Sr. and Jane (McMillin). He grew up in Henrietta, NY with his 5 siblings (Cliff, Gene, Sharon, Rhonda and Rex) and graduated from Rush-Henrietta High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. George worked for General Motors for 30+ years before retiring in 1999. Shortly after retirement, he decided staying stagnant wasn’t for him and took a position at Cannon Industries until finally deciding to enjoy full retirement a few years later.
George had a passion for helping others and always made himself available to fix a car, put in a new light fixture, or put in a new floor. He was a “jack of all trades” and loved to be of service to his friends and family. George had a few passions in life; he enjoyed a good debate, a hot cup of coffee and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Sr. and his mother Jane, his brothers (Jay, Cliff and Gene). He is survived by his children George III (Sue), Roderick (Bonnie), Jason, Aaron, Jennel (Jason Rivera) and Brandon Cameron. His grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Nicholas, Casey, Sydney, Mireya, Jason Jr, Nayana and Natalie (Forbes). His sisters Sharon, Rhonda (Rick Krahenbuhl), brother Rex (Jean) Cameron, Josephine Cameron (sister in law) and several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 29 from 4pm to 6pm with funeral service immediately following at 6:00pm both being held at Miller Funeral Home 3325 S. Winton Rd, Rochester NY 14623.
