I loved my uncle Tom. I will miss our conversations. But I believe now he is at rest & no longer suffering & there is hope found in the promises of the holy scriptures. A hope for a resurrection & a future without sickness, death, hunger, wars & suffering. May you find comfort in the scriptures in your time of grief from the God who cannot lie & who has created all things & given us the promises. Anyone who wishes to talk about these things is free to reach out to me. Here is just a small portion of some of these promises, may you find comfort & endurance. Acts 24:15 — And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Isaiah 26:19 — 19 “Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life. Matthew 22:31,32 — 31 Regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said: 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living.” Luke 14:13,14 — 13 But when you spread a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; 14 and you will be happy, because they have nothing with which to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous ones.” John 5:28,29 — 28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. John 11:25 — 25 Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; Revelation 20:12 — 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. Revelation 21:4 — And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Isaiah 25:8 — 8 He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, For Jehovah himself has spoken it. 1 Corinthians 15:26 — 26 And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. Isaiah 35:10 — 10 Those redeemed by Jehovah will return and come to Zion with a joyful cry. Unending joy will crown their heads. Exultation and rejoicing will be theirs, And grief and sighing will flee away.
