Obituary of Stephen John Miller
Stephen John Miller, age 62, passed away on December 29, 2018. Beloved husband of Carol Howcroft. Proud father of Alayna Miller, Nathan Miller and Erik Miller. Loving son of Theodore (the late Shirley) Miller. Dear brother of David (Saundra) Miller, Carolyn (Robert) Brueggerhoff, Richard (Marie) Miller and Peter Miller. Stephen was a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Steve was born on February 27, 1956 in Rochester, New York. He was one of five children, three brothers and one sister. He attended St. Monica Elementary school and church, where he was an altar boy and Master of Ceremonies. He moved to Sterling Heights in 1971 and attended Sterling Heights High School, where he graduated in 1974. He worked at Chevrolet (Nine Mile and Mound), FisherBody/Fleetwood, and the GM Tech Center as a Skilled Trades Journeyman from 1974 until December 2015, at which time he retired after 41 years of service. He loved being retired! Stephen was a proud member of the UAW-Local 160, where he was a member of the shop committee. He resided in Mt. Clemens, Clinton Township, and Shelby Township. Steve was caring, loving, and quite the family man, he loved his dear wife and three children and would do anything possible for each of them! He loved the outdoors, skiing, scuba diving, fishing, photography, motorcycling, four wheeling, and working on cars, which he was exceptional at. He loved going to Florida and spending time with his dad and brothers. He traveled whenever possible and has been all over the United State, from the east coast to the west coast. He especially enjoyed road trips with Carol. He was high on life! Steve was a 'great man', who always had a smile on his face. We have so many fun and fond memories of him, but really wanted to make more! He will be deeply missed by everyone!
