Obituary of David A. Roberts
Andover, CT - David Alan Roberts, 63, passed in peace on January 7th, 2019. He is survived by his two children, Dillon and Lucia Roberts, his older siblings Kenneth Roberts and Diane Wickes, and his younger brother, Barry Roberts. He will be remembered by his vast extended family, including cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
David grew up in Wellsville, New York, and attended Wellsville High School. He was a member of the band playing the trumpet and also became a skilled guitarist, listening to artists including, but not limited to, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead and Dizzy Gillespie.
He was a graduate of SUNY Buffalo as an aerospace engineer. He moved to Connecticut and pursued a career with Pratt & Whitney for over 25 years before retiring. Aside from engineering, he loved to cook, finding recipes in magazines and online to create gourmet meals.
Devoted to science, David would take annual trips to the Boston Museum of Science and stay current with NASA space missions. His science fiction collection was extensive and included memorabilia from his favorite books, shows and films such as Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. His ability to quote science-fiction films was unmatched.
Along with his love for science, David was also passionate about Boston sports and the UConn Huskies. You could find him watching Red Sox games or supporting UConn basketball and football. His frisbee throwing skills were passed on to his children. He loved a beach day that included eating seafood and tossing around a frisbee.
David will be remembered for many things; his gentle personality, sharing his culinary skills, discussing fan theories about upcoming TV series and movies, telling childhood stories involving mischief with his siblings, the list goes on. His curiosity throughout life led to many unique experiences that he shared with everyone and a part of him will live on in all who loved him.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service for David on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 1-3PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S, Rochester, NY 14623).
