Obituary of Edward Clinton Faringer
Edward "Ed" Clinton Faringer of Henrietta, beloved husband and father, lost his brave battle with cancer on Feb 3, 2019 in the loving arms of his wife Jennifer and daughter Briana.
Ed was born Dec 4, 1942 in Seattle, WA moving to NY in 1987 after an illustrious career in the US Army, serving on multiple tours in Vietnam as well as tours thereafter on nearly every continent. He often reflected, “I don’t remember a bad day” of his years of service. In NY he found a second career as a Paramedic Operations Supervisor at Rural Metro (now AMR) where he impacted the lives of many. During his 24 years, he cared for patients with compassion and dignity, and became a beloved mentor to many who often referred to Ed as “Papa Bear.”
Ed loved the woods and the mountains; he enjoyed fishing and hunting in the Adirondacks and locally. Above all, Ed cherished his time with family; his quiet but constant support offered guidance and wisdom not only for his family but to all who knew him. Ed often described his life simply, but the impact he made on countless lives can hardly be encapsulated. His aim in life was to serve and protect; he did so honorably in every walk of life.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Wilmot Cancer Center and the URMC Palliative Care Center for their compassion, support, and care provided for both Ed and his family.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of Ed’s life on Saturday Feb 16th at 11am, Miller’s Funeral and Cremation Services,Inc., 3325 Winton Road South, Rochester. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to URMC Wilmot Cancer Institute. CLICK HERE to donate
