I attempted to e withy you this morning but was unable to find a place to park (not surprising considering how many lives John and the family have touched). John mentored Jim Boyle and myself as rookie co-pastors with his wisdom and sense of humor and I shall always be grateful for his caring. Please know that John and the family are and will remain in my prayers.

John and Joan came to Geneseo, N.Y. and attended St. Mary's Church. I would see them every Monday morning at the 8:00am Mass. They both made themselves at home in our church and did not rush out when Mass was over. They were a joy to be around. One thing I noticed but never shared with John was he frequently missed a loop with his belt.

Dear friends, please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your Dad, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. The times I spent with so many of you as we were growing up on Gramercy Park and Dorchester are still fresh in my memory. I remember seeing all of you at church every Sunday at St. John's. It was wonderful to move into the neighborhood in December of 1964 and to discover that your family was a little bit bigger than ours, with plenty of kids our own age! May you memories of John be a blessing to all of you. Sincerely, Cathy Agnello
