Obituary of Sara W. Johnson

Sara W. Johnson (“Sally”)

FAIRPORT  -  February 22, 2019.   Sally was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Johnson (1992) and her brother, William H. Wills, Jr. (2018).  Also by her nephew, Robert S. Wills (2018) and her niece, Candace Wills Woolston (2012).   Sally is survived by her children:  Nancy Humphrey (David), Craig Johnson (Jeannette), Linda Johnson, and Sharon Montoya.  She leaves her cherished grandchildren:  Elissa Humphrey, Nathan Humphrey, Alexa Johnson, Kent Charles Johnson, Adam Montoya, Mark Montoya (Megan), and great grandson, Brendon Miguel Montoya.  Sally is also survived by her brother, Walter Wills, sister-in-law, Barbara Wills [William], nieces, nephews and friends.

Sally exemplified love for life, which was revealed in her friendships, her compassion toward those in need, her musical gifts, her stewardship of nature, her pursuit of social justice, and her unwavering faith in Christ.  She was a 52 year member of Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church.  She mothered us, her children, and taught us how to mother, and now is so sadly missed.

Calling hours will be Friday, March 8, 4-7 PM at Miller Funeral Services, 3325  Winton Rd. South, Rochester, NY 14623.   Sally’s memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 AM, at Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church, 415 Thornell Rd., Pittsford, NY 14534.  Interment private. Those wishing may contribute in Sally’s memory to Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church Click here to donate or to Creekstone at RPH Click here to donate.

Sally’s family gratefully acknowledges the Shahbazim and nurses at Nancy’s House, who embraced her with warmth and joy into the Creekstone family, then tenderly cared for her during her unexpected final illness.

Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.  Yet even at the grave we make our song:  Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
