Dear Mary Ann and David,
I am a volunteer at OWG also, and am so terribly sorry about Trevor's drowning in the bay.
My son, Michael Burbank, drowned in the Genesee River 15 years ago when he was 21 years old. His body was recovered 3 miles out in Lake Ontario.
I so wish you didn't have to go through this tragedy. Losing a child is unimaginable pain and sorrow. We can never be the same - it's like our DNA changes as we struggle to survive.
Mary Ann, I'm trying to place your face at OWGs - I don't remember if we've met.
Please know I am here for you. People try, but unless they've lost a child, it's hard for them to know the depth of what we experience in our grief.
I'll be in touch. Much love to you, just do the best you can, no expectations.
