Thimmiah Gurunatha
It is with great sadness that the family of Thimmiah Gurunatha announces his passing on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Born and educated in India, he earned a Masters degree in Engineering at Wayne State University. He led a beautiful, purposeful, and full life over the years living in Toronto, Rochester and Bradenton, touching lives and building strong communities of friends everywhere that he went. Over the years he worked for Xerox and American Society of Quality, and during his tenures he travelled the world as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt teaching quality in engineering and service. He shared his belief that we could always make anything better when we lead with love and an open heart. He shared that love with everyone he met as he traveled the world from Tanzania to Norway, whether he was climbing to fifteen thousand feet in Nepal or cruising to see the glaciers in Alaska. Everywhere he went he drew people in of every age and background, and connecting with him left everyone better for it. His zest for life was infectious and his perspective on spirituality inspiring. He believed his purpose in life was to help others and tirelessly worked for others at every moment of his life.
After he retired from Xerox, he has worked to share his quality expertise with India and sought to build the next generation of quality evangelists including sharing his patented creation of Rainbow Charts for communication.
He will be forever remembered by those whose lives he has touched and each and everyone will carry those lessons that he taught and thoughts that he shared for the rest of their lives.
He is survived by Bhagya, his loving wife of 46 years and his daughter Rachana, his sons-in-law Nagesh and Jason, and his grandchildren Akshay, Teja, Lily, Akash, and Rhea. He joins his predeceased daughter Pallavi and now watches over us all.
