Obituary of Russell Frank Battaglia

Born August 22, 1929, Ross passed away peacefully on June 28, 2019 at age 89. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Ann Battaglia; 5 Children, Karen (Paul McCrossen), Lauri (Rob Triassi), Lynne Battaglia-Triggs, Rosalyn Battaglia & Albert (Sara) Battaglia; 12 grandchildren, Tommy (Shannon Sheffield), Carrie McCrossen (Ian McWethy), Meg McCrossen (Karl Bury), Sophia, Gia & Joseph Triassi, Michaela Liberacki, Isabella Battaglia, Jared (Nicole) Triggs, Nora (David) Gramlich, Jessica (Ben) Bianchi, Michelle (Ryan) Reuter; 7 Great Grandchildren, Charlotte & Cora Sheffield, Jaina & Karmella Triggs, Jovanni & Jiavanna Hyder and Calvin McWethy. Predeceased by his brother, Charles (Dorothy, surviving) Battaglia; parents Albert and Margaret.

Ross and Ann had many wonderful friends with friendships lasting for many decades. All of them, both surviving and gone, were cherished by him. Ross was Born in Buffalo, NY. As a young man he sang on the radio with a radio show called “Listen While You Lunch” on WEBR.  He then began working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, from which he retired in 1984. He and Ann raised their family in Buffalo and later Rochester, NY. They spent a decade of their retirement in Sunrise, FL and Naples, NY before returning to Rochester in the late nineties. Ross loved to play cards, especially when he won. He loved Italian food, especially when Ann made it. He was a good golfer, and he enjoyed his grandchildren immensely. He lived almost 90 years and he was fortunate, his life was full.

Funeral services will be celebrated, WEDNESDAY, 10 AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home CLICK FOR MAP. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
