Maryanna Olley Sherry

Passed away on July 2, 2019 at age 87.  She was predeceased by her parents, Victor Henry & Mary Ellen (McFarland) Olley; brother, Stephen Henry Olley; infant son, Andrew Robert Sherry.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Carl Sherry; children, Nancy (Sean) Goff-Kennedy, Todd (Cheryl) Sherry,  Robin (Rodney) Woodin; grandchildren, Casey Goff, Daniel Kennedy, Caitlin (Amber) Kennedy, Spencer Kennedy, Stephanie (Charles) Clauser, Andrew Sherry, Star (Eddie) Gianelloni; great-grandchildren, Gavin & Ellie Gianelloni, Logan Clauser; Many Grand Dogs & Cats.

Our Mom fostered a love of nature to us from an early age. The Adirondacks are where she gathered her strength and peace. She taught us the value of an education by pursuing her bachelors degree over the course of 17 years. Instilling a never give up attitude and never being afraid to see what’s around the next corner. She was matter of fact and no nonsense, but loved a good joke and delighted in word games. A consummate crossword puzzler, she loved the challenge of completing a puzzle with no dictionary aid. Her knitting skills were well known to our family as well as the folks she taught in classes and in her yarn business she ran for many years in Northville, NY. She and Dad built their dream home in Edinburg, NY next to Sagandaga Lake. It was their “log cabin in the woods”.

We are grateful for the care she has received during her last years with us, most recently at St. John’s Home on the 6th floor.

It comforts us to know she is no longer suffering.

Services and Interment will be held privately.  A Public Memorial will be announced.
