Obituary of Mary Latvala
Mary Latvala (Vittorio) passed peacefully to eternal rest on September 11, 2019, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Watertown, NY and is pre-deceased by her parents, Rossolino Vittorio and Anna Spezio; eight siblings; her husband of 51 years, William H. Latvala, Sr.; her son, William H. Latvala, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Kazuko Latvala. She is survived by her two sons: Thomas Latvala, Sr. and Lawrence (“Larry”) Latvala; daughter-in-law, Fe Latvala; three grandchildren: Sasha M. Latvala, Linda (“Poppy”) Latvala and Thomas Latvala, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren: Miah Latvala, Lorenzo Latvala, Brandon Curtis, Emma Schroeder, Thomas Latvala, III and Karen Latvala.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at The Highlands Living Center (Pittsford) for all the care they have provided over the past two and a half years.
We acknowledge her fond remembrances of St. Anthony’s Parish in Watertown and Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester. A private celebration of her life will be held on her 100th birthday in November.
