Obituary of Africa Lacambra Ruiz

Africa Lacambra Ruiz passed peacefully on Oct. 6, 2019. Born in 1927, Toledo, Spain. Predeceased by her husband Julian J. Ruiz. Survived by her four children Julian (Linda) Ruiz, David (Natalie) Ruiz, Maribel (Jeffrey) Maxon, Joaquin (Lori) Ruiz, Grandchildren Brett, Leah, Allen, Jessica and Nicholas Ruiz, Cristina Maxon, six great grandchildren, and her loving family in Spain.

Africa received a Master of Arts degree in Spanish from Middlebury College, and taught Spanish at Nazareth College, MCC and the University of Rochester. Her engaging, vibrant spirit touched everyone in her life. She is greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 9th at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 1209 Rush West Rush Road, Rush NY. Private Interment Oct. 18th. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to The Carmelite Monastery 1931 W. Jefferson Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534.
