Obituary of Mary Prokop
Passed away October 11, 2019 at age 97. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anna; Nephew, Thomas Thelen; sister, Stella and brothers, Nicholas and Charles. Survived by sister, Rose Thelen; brother John (Louise); nephews, William Thelen, Christopher, Gregory (Christine), Jeffrey; niece, Lisa; great-nephews, Kyle, Colin; great-niece, June.
After attending Rochester Business Institute, Mary worked at Bausch and Lomb. She was hired as an Administrative Assistant for DPI a research branch of Eastman Kodak. There, she worked for six research chemist preparing their reports. After working there for 25 years, her group was one of the first to be offered an early retirement package. With her retirement she was able to travel, and began bowling and golfing. She loved to cook, sew and crochet. She crocheted Barbie doll clothes for her niece. One of her favorite things to do was watch figure skating. She loved her family and was a very active and independent woman.
The family would like to thank Heather Heights of Pittsford, where she resided for the past five years in the Memory Care Unit, for the excellent care and love she received. Also, Dr. Park and the Staff of West 5 in Highland Hospital for the exceptional care Mary received. Most of all, the family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the volunteers of Benincasa House for the love, comfort and care Mary received in her final days.

Mary's Memorial Mass will be held 10 AM SATURDAY October 26th in St. Marianne Cope Parish at Guardian Angels 2061 East Henrietta Rd.
