Obituary of Forbes Daniel Patrick Hildreth
Forbes Hildreth, affectionately known as “Bud,” passed suddenly, though peacefully, in his home on October 12, 2019.
He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joann; their children: Kirsten (Mark) Krasz, Andrew (Molly Piscitelli-Hess) and Scott (Jessica Horder); grandchildren, Erika & Warren Krasz; brother-in-law, Maynard “Corky” (Nancy) Shewman, as well as other family members and friends.
Bud served in the US Navy from 1961-1965. He then went to work for Roehlen Engraving in Rochester, where he stayed for 40 years, retiring with the title Master Engraver.
Everyone who knew Bud, loved him. He was a kind, calm, funny and gentle man. He was a dependable and loving father and husband, as well as friend and neighbor. The Hildreth family home was always open; to the children of the area to come and play and stay for a meal or to anyone who simply needed a safe place. Bud was a listening ear who did his best to solve any problem.
Bud was an extensive movie buff and media collector, with an impressive record, film and book collection. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles (in pen) as well as outdoor activities, such as camping and bringing the family on out of state adventures or to a local park.
The funeral service is to be held at 1:00pm on FRIDAY, Oct. 18, 2019 at the Interfaith Chapel of Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd S). Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery (150 Middle Rd. Henrietta). Due to the unique way Bud will be arriving to the cemetery, there will not be a funeral procession. Those who wish to attend the 2:15pm graveside service are asked to meet the family at Maplewood Cemetery.
