Obituary of Donald G. Nobes

Donald G. Nobes

Henrietta: Donald G. Nobes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the age of 79. Don was predeceased by his soulmate, his wife of 58 years, Nancy Nobes whom he joins in eternity as they watch over their four beloved children, Steven (Mary) Nobes, Sharon Sedlacek, Sandra (Jeff) Sedlacek, and Susan (Bryce) Larrabee. He leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Adam Nobes and Cooper, Alexandra & Peyton Larrabee, along with, great-grandchild, Jace. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Pat) Nobes; as well as many nieces, nephews and cherished cousins.

Don will be forever remembered for his love, support and sense of humor (never not having a joke at the ready). He was born and raised in Rochester; passing peacefully in the same hospital he was born in (Highland Hospital). After graduating from Monroe High School in 1958, Don and Nancy were lucky to explore the world while stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany. Following the service, he graduated from Brockport College and began his career at American Optical before embarking on a long career at Kodak. During the years, Don spent countless hours volunteering for many local organizations. Saying “no” was not in his vernacular. Coach, cheerleader, chauffer, homework checker, joke teller were just a few of his “job descriptions” as he raised his four children with Nancy. Don was always up for a road trip, but be weary of his “short cuts”.
