Robert Bradley was a magnificent teacher, extraordinary coach, and a role model to every McQuaid student. I still remember the books I read in the two classes I had with him. He helped teach me how to write clearly and directly, and helped expose me to a range of literature, from Shakespeare to Flowers for Algernon. (Assigning that book, with some of its explicit scenes, led Bob to provide our group of freshmen with several classes on the “birds and the bees,” which, to be perfectly honest, was very necessary back in 1969.) When my brother Bob started teaching at McQuaid, I saw “Mr. Bradley,” more often in social situations, where he was invariably generous and gracious. Like those others who have posted, Bob Bradley came to the funerals of my father and mother, and then very sadly, my older brothers Bob and John. He was truly an exceptional man who lived his Catholic faith every day.

I had the honor, privilege and good fortune to know Mr. Bradley for more than 50 years, first as a teacher and then as a patient, fellow parishioner and friend. He was always a man of integrity, deep faith, hard work and humility. All of that made him an easy man to be fond of.
I can hear the Good Lord saying, "Well done good and faithful servant."
Thank you for teaching me how to lead a life well lived.
RIP, Mr. Bradley.

Coach Bradley was my XC coach at Siena, and oversaw all of us after we got to McQuaid- he was the absolute best coach a young man could’ve asked for( and he certainly coached a lot of us!) what I’ll remember most is how he came to my beloved grandfather’s memorial service, with a card for my grandma and a personal letter to me.. I still have that letter 4 years later, and his impact on me is more than I’ll ever be able to say. Thanks Coach, for everything, truly, it was an honor and my privilege to have had you in my life. You will be missed, the Invitational won’t be the same without you!!

I graduated from McQuaid in 1972 and had Coach Bradley for English; and he was tough but fair! It wasn't until later in life; long after graduating, that I became brutally aware of his steadfast Faith and supreme dedication to the McQuaid fellowship! I had thought this feeling of belonging to something very special was reserved for the Jesuits, students and alumni? Coach Bradley was the man that shattered that misconception! Yes, he was an exemplary teacher, and amazing Coach; but I will remember him most for being present at every funeral of any relation attached to the McQuaid Family! To me that will be his greatest Legacy...the man who had so much unwavering compassion that he always chose to be there...sincerely, Tommy Springer Jr.

Bob Bradley is in heaven today for sure. Mr. Bradley is a saint and an icon of a man and a teacher as i knew him in his English class in 1960 at McQuaid. While not for sure as at my parents funeral i was always in a fog but i do know he was at many funerals i attended for friends of mine. I always thought what a class guy he was to be at these services. Less than 2 months ago in Highland Hospital waiting to have a follow up to my prostate services for cancer, Bob Bradley came up to me asking if i was Paul Crego as somehow in his magnificent mind he remembered me from my English class at McQuaid and then proceeded to introduce his wife and daughter to me. Bob stated he was there for a follow up fourteen years later from his initial diagnosis. I made sure the nurse practitioner realized that she had as a patient an ICON of a man who was held by so many as just below the pope in recognition and success. Bob is organizing track meets in heaven right now. God bless him for his service and love to others and may his family know peace. His life and example will get them to heaven in their time too.

The one thing that impressed me most about Coach was his ability to recognize and remember people. It could be years, even decades, between the occasions we would run into each other, and there was none of that uncomfortable reaching for a name. It was an immediate, “Hi, Mike!”, like we had just seen each other the day before. Considering the number of people who passed through his life, that was pretty incredible. "Wash", '72.

I spent a lot of time riding in his VW bus to various track meets and workouts. What a coach and teacher but I remember him most for when he showed up at my father's funeral 25 years after my graduation.
Semper Fi, Mr. Bradley.

My sincere sympathy goes out to the Bradley family. Although I did not know Mr. (Bob) Bradley very well, he represented the kind of man we need more of. He protected our country, he educated our youth and raised a wonderful family. I pray someday I can be looked upon with such respect and admiration.
Praying for the Bradley family, and I lift up my partner Rob and his wife Carly and his sister Audrey in their time of morning.
