Nancy (Doherty) O’Mara

Brighton – Nancy passed away on January 6, 2020 following a long illness. Predeceased by her husband, Daniel, Jr., parents and brother-in-law, Michael and nephew Christopher Hoone. Nancy is survived by her children, Daniel J. III (Kim) and Timothy J. (Cascade, CO), grandchildren, Ryan and Molly, brothers, Timothy Doherty and Terrence Doherty, sister-in-laws, Kay Ellis (Syracuse, NY), Colleen O’Mara (Fairport, NY), and Patrick O’Mara (Kisamee, FL), and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School, D’Youville College (Buffalo, NY) with a BS in Nursing and SUNY Brockport with a Masters in Public Administration.

Nancy was employed as a Public Health Nurse for 30 years and ended her career as an Administrator of School Health Services for the Monroe County Health Department.

Nancy devoted her time to volunteering for church and charitable organizations including, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Rochester Museum and Science Center, Catholic Charities Community Services board, Retired Professionals Society, and Friends of Brighton Memorial Library. She had many interests which included gardening, cooking, reading and entertaining.

The Funeral Mass for Nancy will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 12pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Varinna Drive, Rochester, NY 14618, with a visitation starting at 11am. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to:
