I have known Wendell for 35 years. While at the Kodak Research labs, our common interests in design of experiments led to a long term collaboration lasting well beyond our retirements from Kodak. This collaboration morphed into long lasting friendships with Mimi, Wendell, and my wife, Joanne. Noteworthy, we enjoyed many dinners at ethnic restaurants as well as some hikes together in northern Pennsylvania.
I quickly realized the depth and breadth of Wendell's probing mind. To this day, I believe he was one of the most brilliant individuals with whom I have ever associated. On top of this, Wendell was very unassuming and humble. Thus, Wendell exhibited many elements of greatness because he didn't have to remind others of his brilliance. It was just obvious.
Joanne and I will greatly miss our interesting and empathetic friend.

I worked with Wendell in the Research labs as his photo technician. He was by far my favorite "boss" as he treated me as an equal contributor on an assignment. He was so very interesting to talk with and always willing to take the time to share. He had a terrific sense of humor in his own quiet witty way and he had the best smile!
I wish you strength in this time of grief but know he touched people's hearts and someone I will always appreciate knowing.
