Obituary of Harold R. Beamish
Harold Ramon Beamish, 90, passed on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Harold, or Hank, or even Henry to some, was born in Penn Yan, New York, on July 19, 1929. He grew up in Rochester, attended West High School, graduated RIT, and worked as an electrical engineer for Rochester Gas and Electric for 44 years. He was also a member of the Gates-Chili Fire Department Company #2 for over 65 years. Harold was lucky enough to have two great loves in his life; Jean (Sale) with whom he was married to for 24 years, and Irene Payne, his loving companion for 30 years. Harold enjoyed traveling with Irene and they traveled to many special places including Spain, England, Africa, China, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Fuji, and more, but Keuka Lake was his favorite place. As a child, he fished in the waters, as a young boy he camped on the shores and sailed the lake in his K boat, as a married man he built a cottage with his own hands, and as father and grandfather, he taught all about the beauty of the lake and passed on his love of Keuka. Harold leaves two sons, Todd, and Mark (Krista), grandchildren of Ben, Sara, and Keegan, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves an extended family of heart of the Payne family including Kathy (Don), David (Donna), Chrissy (Dick), Michelle (Ed), and Marybeth (Art), their children and grandchildren.
A reception in his memory will be held at a later date. Internment, private.
