Obituary of Genevieve A. Deklerow

Genevieve A. Deklerow, daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Greene, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on March 19, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, son Joseph, Jr., sisters Esther and Katherine, and brother Robert. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and David Dougall, three grandchildren Donna (Marcos) Reyes, Patrick Dougall, and Jessica (Matthew) Carnevale, six great grandchildren Marcos, Alicia, Abigail, Marissa, Isabella, and Michael, her brother Albert (Barbara) Greene, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Raised in Saratoga Springs, New York, Genevieve met her husband, Joseph, in May of 1945 and they were married shortly thereafter. After relocating to Rochester in 1956, they welcomed their son, Joseph Jr., who was born with spina bifida. After Joey’s death, Genny returned to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for 22 years at the Wesley Community in that capacity. After retiring, she joined her husband, Joseph, working in their company, Dextrite, Inc. After Joseph’s death in 2002, she assumed his role as president of Dextrite where she worked until her second retirement at age 85. A private graveside service was held at Whitehaven Memorial Park on July 25, 2020.
