Obituary of Yogini Ashwin Patel

Yogini Patel passed away on April 3, 2020 in Rochester, NY following a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  For almost 30 years, Yogini was a long time employee at Hickey Freeman. She loved her job and the many friends she made there throughout her years with the company.

 

She loved to travel, and was able to do so over the last 15 years.  Her favorite place to visit was Paris, France, but her favorite place to eat was Rome and Venice, Italy.  This was mainly for the pistachio gelato. She also loved murder mysteries and was an avid reader of those books, in her 20’s back in India.  Lastly, she really cared about the people she knew and didn’t know. She was always willing to help anyone in need. That’s why it was no surprise but a surprise nonetheless, that she had graduated with a degree in Sociology in college.  She never really gave away much about herself, but she always gave to others selflessly. This is just the kind of woman she always was and will be sorely missed.

 

She was predeceased by her father, Chhotubhai Patel.  Survived by her husband, Ashwin Patel, daughters Zarna (Kevin) Patel-Sackeli, and Deepa Patel.  Yogini came from a big family, she is also survived by her mother, Pushpaben Patel, her siblings, Ashwin (Leela) Patel, Niranjan (Anju) Patel, Ranjan Patel, Yogesh (Dipa) Patel, Meena (Mukesh) Patel and Amit (Mita) Patel. She was also very much loved by her husband’s side of the family as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later time by the family.
