On behalf of the Manchester-Shortsville Central School District, our sincere condolences go out to Jean's family. Although I did not have the privilege to work directly with Jean, I did have the opportunity to meet, this legendary care taker of Red Jacket students and families, on many occasions when she returned to her Red Jacket family for visits during her retirement. Our fond memories and gratitude will live on through the thousands of lives Jean has touched and shaped over her many years as a counselor at Red Jacket. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jean's family and friends as we grieve our loss together.
Sincerely,
Charlene Dehn

She was a great woman and a role model for me in many ways. I cherish her in my life and her presence continues for me. She lived a life to celebrate.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family.

Aunt Jean was always there for our family events- taking pictures with her old school camera of items and events as she saw them. She would send us all the albums afterwards which were wrapped with an abundance of scotch tape from 160 Princess Drive, the house she lived in my entire life. We all have great memories running down that "long" hallway from "grammas ghost", watching library rented movies on her 1960's projector, looking at the Disney book and swimming in her freezing pool. We will all miss the practical -sometimes quirky- but always persistent presents and packages from her. The US Post office lost a true loyal friend. I think we can all agree she looked at life differently than most. I will remember her walking Bill's beautiful dog "Satan" in the park. She said she would lose sight of him and then would be running frantically thru the woods in the park yelling "Satan"! and it occurred to her people thought she was crazy. Well.. out of all the experiences and memories I have of her, I'm most thankful she gave up on Buddha and returned to Church. With God's grace, I pray all of us will reunite in Heaven where we have eternity to laugh and love together in a more perfect family.
