Santina Fusco

Obituary of Santina M. Fusco

Santina Mary Gulisano Fusco

HENRIETTA – Passed away on September 18, 2020 at the age of 92.  She died peacefully with her family by her side.

She was born in Mt. Morris, NY on October 31, 1927 to Sicilian Immigrants, Philip and Anna Gulisano.  She married the love of her life, Samuel F. Fusco in 1947.  They went on to have six children.  She was widowed at the age of 45, with three young children to raise.  She got a full-time job at Xerox Corporation where she worked until her retirement.

Family was everything to her.  Her belief in God and Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, was the foundation by which she lived her life.  She earnestly searched for the Lord and enjoyed a close walk with him.  It was important to her to share her faith and so she wrote a book, “For Thou Thyself Hast Taught Me”. (Psalm 119:102).

In her book she says, “Her prayer was for salvation and a closer walk with God for all she could reach, especially her dearly loved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and future generations”.  She stated, “It is my hope and prayer that the words of Jesus will be taken seriously and that someday we will all be together with Him.”.

She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.  She lived a full life of love and gratitude.  Her heart and home were always open to those in need.  Her strength, faith and love for her family inspired us all.

Santina was blessed with a large loving family.  She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel F. Fusco.  She is survived by her children Marie E. Wade, Paul P. Fusco, Annette Hamlin, Joanna King, Angela Sorber, and Sandra Stefano.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Reginald Wade, Damon Wade, Zachary Wade, Paul Fusco, Caitlin Barth, Kristen Englehart, Gena Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Amanda King, David King, Samuel Sorber, Matthew Sorber, Rachel Sorber, Stephanie Sorber, Rebecca Stefano and Anna Stefano; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all those at The Jewish Home of Rochester for the compassionate care they provided to our mother.

A private memorial and graveside service will be held.
