Even as I write this I am nervous about "sacreds". At our 25th I asked "Bubbles" if anyone had come close to my record for sacreds in a single paper/semester/year. With twinkle in his eye and without a missed "hrumph" he said, "congratulations". i did not deserve to be in that class but I am thankful for the challenge and the experience. For all who were frustrated by the test with no correct answers, know this; to this day you tell your friends about it and that alone is a statement to the man who challenged you think beyond the norms of right/wrong, fair/unfair, just/unjust and good/evil. bwanna bwanna Fr W.

Father Wroblewski and his influence on the McQuaid community will live on forever in the memories of his former students. He challenged them to think outside the box and, under his ever watchful eye, they developed into confident young men- just that much more prepared for the challenges life will throw at them. We are grateful our sons had the opportunity to benefit from his caring and excellent teaching. He will be greatly missed.

Fr. Wroblewski was my favorite teacher. The fun George used to have with him in verbal jousting, playing chess and occasional tennis matches ultimately led to his officiating at our marriage 25 years ago. Fr. Wroblewski's "sacred" word list and "blurbs" will be sorely missed by future students at McQuaid, but fondly remembered by those lucky enough to have received his special brand of instruction. Peace, Father.

Fr. Wroblewski was a fantastic English teacher who made all his students push themselves. He always had a very high standard of expectation and required students to meet that standard.

Fr. Larry's passing leaves hole in the McQuaid community, but his light shines on in all the young men he taught, the Mercy girls like me who knew him from being in McQuaid plays (and still refer to him as Fr. Bubbles), and his colleagues who will sorely miss him. I know he suffered greatly in the end, but as a true Jesuit, it was all for the Greater Glory of God. RIP Larry, and pray for us.

Fr. Wroblewski was perhaps the most influential teacher in my life. I fondly remember his "blurbs" on "Childhoods End, Animal Farm", and countless others. His AP English class was reqiured to read one book a week and then to try and answer a rather impossible test. He taught me how to think, how to question, and how to appreciate the beauty of intellect and discourse. He was a great man.

To Fr. Wroblewski's Family,
I am writing to attest to the enduring memory of an interested teacher. I met Fr. when he was at McQuaid during my Freshman and Sophomore years, 1969-1971.
I remember the then Mr.Wroblewski as being genuinely interested in very young students. He had a marvelous way about him. Even though I did not have the pleasure of being in his classes, I retain strong affectionate memories of interactions with him around school, at Mass, during assemblies, and at sporting events.
He had a quiet easy manner that naturally drew students to him, and especially drew the quieter ones, including them in the discussions and the fun.
I will keep Father and your family in my prayers.

Father always more many hats - among them, friend and supervisor. Always patient and keenly observant, he opened his heart to everyone he met and he knew exactly how to respond to them individually. Because of this tremendous gift, we all have great stories to share as well as profound sorrow at his passing. He truly lived in the moment, but those moments were far too few. Sometimes a man of few words, he proved that if you listened closely, you could feel the powerful presence of God through those words. His impression remains on our hearts.

As a sophomore I thought English class would be a easy. We had an inexperienced instructor for the first semester then suddenly our class was shifted to Father Wroblewski in January of 1978. We were shocked and then enlightened. High grades became tougher to earn but that's when the work rate increased. Father was always fair and encouraged me to pursue my intense desire to become a sports writer. I've been writing for the last 25 years since graduating from college. Coincidentally later in my sophomore year, our theology class rotation was shifted to Father. (Imagine back to back classes with Father -- his dry sense of humor and direct responses quickly became fixtures). The one thing I recall of his teachings was the following phrase on what separates us as humans from the rest of the living, breathing creatures: "You were born with free will and intellect." The message was sent and received. Father Wroblewski, you were right. At that seminal moment, I began to think in a different way and appreciate my Jesuit education. To the Wroblewski family, my condolences. Thank you, Father. God Bless. CL
