Uncle Bob, I love you. I always admired your talent for art, ever since I was a little girl. You had such a gift.
I remember watching you paint up in the attic. I was in awe & wished someday to be able to paint or draw like you did.
I remember when you showed me how to make a ship in a bottle, and the times we spent in your room talking & you showing different things you collected.
I remember you used to buy things for my Gramma.
I especially remember the day you came to our rescue with loads of food after Dad got hurt! (I was tired of eating dandlions & clovers).
I'm glad I got to spend time with you and Auntie Jane when I was working in the city. I love you,
Your niece, Donja

We were deeply saddened to hear about Bob. He was an incredibly generous man that always thought of our son Cole by sending sensational gifts that we will always treasure. We would send funny cards and pictures back and forth that would always bring a smile to my face. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Stickland family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to your family. I worked with and for Bob for many years and we have continued to exchange birthday and Xmas cards since his retirement. Every year when I decorate the Xmas tree with some little music box ornament he gave me, I think of him. Bob was a very generous man and I have many little musical treasures to remember him by.

Bob was a dear friend with whom I worked many years at the NYS Department of Labor. Before he became my friend, he already had the heart of my Mom, Helen Curtis, who also worked many years at the NYS Department of Labor. Mom and Bob shared a love for beautiful things especially music boxes. When I had children in the 1970's, Bob was very generous. I remember one Easter, the huge round Easter basket, filled with candy, he brought for the children. He also lavished them with stuffed animals and each of them received a music box. I was so shocked to hear about Bob's death. I will miss him. My condolences go out to his family.

I have known Bob since the early 80's. We worked together for several years then, and again in the 90's until he retired in 1995. After his retirement we continued to send birthday and Christmas cards. I have many, many fond memories of Bob and many of us at the Department of Labor have "Bob" stories. My thoughts and prayers to his family and hope your memories help you through this difficult time.

I worked with Bob for many years in the Department of Labor and feel fortunate to have known him. He had one of the quickest minds of anyone I've met and could bring it equally to bear whether devising clever solutions to problems or producing clever quips. Bob made the workplace both productive and fun. I join his family and other friends in mourning his passing.

After moving to Rochester in 1975, I had the pleasure of working with Bob for four years. He was my Supervisor and a very good friend. After moving back to N.C., Bob and I exchanged Christmas cards every year. In the card I received from him in 2010, he wrote he as doing fine. It is a shock for me. May God continue to bless his family.
