Obituary of Patricia Mitten
Patricia (Miller) Mitten – passed away peacefully on 2/11/11. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family. Patricia was born in Buffalo, NY became a long-time resident of Syracuse, NY and finally lived in Plantation, FL.
Patricia was educated at Buffalo State College where she earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in teaching. She taught first grade elementary school at School 45 in Buffalo and Frasier School in Syracuse. Later, with her husband, Patricia co-founded Mitten Fluidpower in Syracuse. She also spent many years as a member of the Corinthian Club of Syracuse. Recently, she co-founded a charitable organization, The Mitten Family Foundation.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 49 years, John (Jack) P. Mitten, Sr., her three sons and daughters-in-law - John P. Mitten, Jr. (Susan), Robert D. Mitten (Bonnie) and Dr. David J. Mitten (Paula). Also, she had five grandchildren – Jessica, Nicholas, Sean, Emily and Kyle. Two sisters preceded Patricia – Dorothy Deakin and Muriel Bohenski.
Pat, as her friends and family knew her, always enjoyed using her humor, fun-loving personality and love for entertaining.
