For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." May supernatural peace be with the entire Costello family and especially Connor. We'll be praying. Love,
Shannon

Joanie was special to me from the day we met. She was always very nice and friendly to me. Her smile was as honest as she was. Her passing was a great loss to all that knew her. I always knew that if she was gone part of me would be gone as well. I believe part of me still loves her and always will. I wish I could have done more.

Throughout this journey, Joan has taught all of us about the power of inner strength, how precious each day is, and especially the meaning of family and how important they are to each of us. As others have said, it is sad that it is only now when we realize we wish we had all stayed closer.

As the oldest Leinen cousin, I never got to know Joan as well as my sister, Melanie, did. But I have fond memories of many, many Sunday dinners at the Costello home during my four years at Vassar. My heart goes out to the Costello family at this sad time. I hope that you feel, and are comforted by, the embrace of your large extended family. Love, Ina

Joanie, I will miss you forever. Our fun times of growing up reading fairy tale stories to each other and Judy too. I admire your determination and strength to fight to the end. I am sorry I could not do more for you in Raliegh. I am glad you're at peace and have a new body. I look forward to seeing you in Heaven someday--we both can dance and run and have fun!
I love you so much Joanie.

I am a friend who prayed with Joan as Jesus would lead us together... our meetings were often in the parking lot of Kmart by "Godincidence." Joan trusted
Jesus with much, but most specially with Connor. Her love for Connor was very deep. I'll miss Joan very much, but looking forward to seeing her again in heaven. May you all be filled with the comfort of the Lord.
In Jesus' Love for you all,
Debbie

As I mourn the passing of Joan I am reminded of Matthew 11:28 KJV, " 'Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' " I am thankful Joan is at rest and peace with our Lord. Praying for the family and that you will find comfort in His mercy and peace in His love.
Grace be with you Cindy, Matt & Zack
