Virginia and my great-aunt Margaret met when they both attended art school in Philadelphia. They became good friends and kept in touch over the years. When Virginia learned that a relative of Margaret's lived in Rochester, she contacted me and we became friends, too. I enjoyed having afternoon tea at Virginia's East Avenue home. We would look at old photos together and I learned about her life. Myself a budding artist, Virginia always encouraged me. Virginia was a lovely person, a born artist, and a devoted animal lover. I am fortunate to have known her.
