Obituary of Doris Gerow Parmeter

Henriatta, NY: Born 5.28.1925 passed away 9.27.2010, our beloved, faithful mother was reunited with her husband of 65 years, William R. and her son Gary, who pre-deceased her. She also joins her loving parents and sisters Betty Hobby and Janet Stocum. Doris is survived by her devoted family: Carol Monnier, William A. (Patricia Callahan), Bonnie, Nancy (Tim) Maffett, Steven (Nancy), Bev (Mike) Burke, Susan (Milt) Kotin; sisters Shirley (David) Hoag, Beverly Reid. As a devoted Christian, Doris lived and centered her life in Christ. Her ministry was bringing loved ones to Christ. Her giving spirit embraced heartfelt charities such as World Vision and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Doris was an avid reader and life long learner. She shared her library of books and the wisdom she gained with all. She particularly enjoyed C.S. Lewis, Charles Swindoll, and her kindred spirit - Erma Bombeck. She was blessed with many adoring grandchildren: Jonathan Monnier, Lori (Brian) Scheck, Bill (Barb) Parmeter, Michael (Heather) Parmeter, Kellie Taylor, Gary Parmeter, Rick (Carrie) Parmeter, Mark Parmeter, Chris (Marianna) Parmeter, Rebecca Parmeter, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Monnier, Robert (Sara) Monnier, Amanda (Chuck) Irizarry, Patrick Maffett, Evan Maffett, Jason Parmeter, Steph Parmeter, Jeremy Burke, Colby Burke, Mickey Burke, Jessie (Dave) Brajcki, Ben Kotin and 36 great-grandchildren; also many loving nieces and nephews. Donations may be given in her memory to the World Vision Organization and the Calvary Community Church. Family and friends are invited to call THURSDAY, September 30 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Miller Funeral Homes (3325 Winton Road South).
