Obituary of Evan Webber Junot
Evan Webber Junot
Rochester, NY
Evan Jared Webber Junot, was born January 11, 1983 in Fairfax VA, to Hope Junot, Rochester, NY and Dr. Elvin H. Webber (deceased), Wynnewood, PA.
Until 3 years old Evan lived in Washington DC until moving to upstate NY to be close to the Junot family who has lived in the HF\Lima area for generations. Hope and Evan moved to Bushnells Basin where he attended Pittsford Schools and made lifelong friends. His high school years were spent at Canandaigua Academy where he distinguished himself in a variety of sports. He was a force on the football team throughout high school helping the Braves win the 2000 State Championship. Evan was also an exceptional wrestler well known for his success with the wrestling team throughout his 4 years at the Academy.
From Canandaigua Evan attended one college prep year at Wyoming Seminary, Wilkes- Barre, PA, again demonstrating his wrestling skills by being awarded 7th place in his weight class at the US National Wrestling Tournament at Lehigh Valley College, PA. From “SEM”, he moved to New York City to embark on his studies as a Physics major with a football scholarship to Wagner College. Evan saw all corners of the world as one connected community and his future goals would be shaped by the world’s environmental issues. Preservation of nature and animals, of course, were a strong connection to the bigger picture he envisioned.
Evan was an active volunteer locally, helping at fundraising events for the Genesee Center for the Arts and Education. Evan loved ALL MUSIC and blended elements of jazz, classical, contemporary, hip hop, (even the sounds of change in his pocket) to create his own unique sound, or as he would refer to it, “beats”. Always curious, Evan is remembered as someone who liked to tinker, taking apart motors and clocks, desiring to know how things worked so he could improve upon it.
Because of his musical gift, his friends and collaborators, there are plans to incorporate Evan’s music into upcoming movie scripts. It would please Evan to know that his music will continue.
Evan passed away suddenly, on June 30, 2010 at age 27. He is predeceased by his father Elvin Webber. Survived by his mother, Hope Junot; stepmother, Diann Webber; grandmother, Addie Webber; grandparents, George and Jean Junot; a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. So.) on FRIDAY (July 16, 2010) from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.
