Obituary of Ruth B. Ladwig
Ruth Ladwig, 94, late of Burbank St., Rochester and Windsor Rd. Greece was called home by the Lord Wednesday evening, August 11 after a brief hospitalization. Born Ruth Irene Breitenbuecher, June 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Paul and Martha (Zobel) Breitenbucher of Rochester. She was the wife of Willard Ladwig, the son of John and Rose (Leverenz) Ladwig of Rochester, who pre-deceased her. Ruth was a graduate of the Brockport Normal School and was a substitute teacher, teacher aid and library aid in the Rochester City School District. She was a life-long member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church on St. Paul St. and served as the organist, choir member and Sunday School teacher. After her retirement, she was able to spend many summers with her family in the Thousand Islands region. Ruth is survived by her three children; Mrs. Judith Cook (Brian) of Henrietta, Mrs. Deborah Wahl (Neil) of Macedon, and Mr. John Ladwig (Susan) of Henrietta. She is also survived by grandchildren Paul Cook of Westminster, Co., Jason Cook of Morrisonville, NY, Kristen Wahl of Macedon, Theodore and Robert Ladwig of Henrietta, as well as great-grandchildren Aaron, Ruth, Claire, and Julia Cook, niece Cheryl Breitenbuecher of Greece and nephew William Breitenbuecher of Ogdensburg.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday afternoon at St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Henrietta followed by internment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
