Obituary of Richard David Eckardt

Died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on May 8, 2011, at age 68. Born in Rochester, NY; he was predeceased by his parents, Carl & Marie Eckardt. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Eckardt; daughters, Lisa (Scott) Eckardt-Nevol, Mary Karen (Brent Hoover) Petroske, Jenny Eckardt-Vosburgh; grandchildren, Grace, Megan & Marqelle Nevol, Natalie & Danielle Petroske, Paige Hoover, Sarah, Noah & Rebekah Vosburgh and their father Devin Vosburgh; brother, John (Margaret) Eckardt; aunt, Elsbeth Foote; mother-in-law, Ethel Kidd; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Dick graduated from John Marshall High School in 1960, went on to serve in the U.S. Navy and graduated from RIT in 1977. He enjoyed a 38-year career at Copy Products, Eastman Kodak Co. In retirement Dick participated in a variety of activities, none more rewarding than that of "grandpa." He was an active member of the Henrietta United Church of Christ, and was generous with his time; volunteering at the Crop Walk, LPGA and the Irish Children's Program.
