Obituary of James J. Gilbert

Predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen Brooks Gilbert; brothers, Robert (Kathryn) and John (Mary); and sister, Mary (John) Ritter; daughter-in-law, Mary Sexton Gilbert. Survived by sons, James J. (Patti Kneller-) Gilbert of Henrietta, Peter R. Gilbert of Fairport; brother-in-law, Raymond Brooks of CA; grandchildren, Stephen (Moniica) , Bradley,Brandi, Christopher and Meghan (Stuart) Miller; two step-grandchildren, Kevin (Nicolle) and Christopher Kneller; two great grandchildren, Mackensie and Joseph Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. Jim graduated from Olean High School and was a St. Bonaventure Univ. Alumnus. He served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan. When he retired in 1986 from Council Opticians in Olean, Jim and Mary Ellen moved to Myrtle Beach. He returned to NY to live with Peter for the last five years.
