Obituary of Colleen Grace McGrath
Colleen Grace McGrath passed peacefully from life on July 2, 2011 after a long illness. She was a graduate of Rush-Henrietta High School, Monroe Community College, and the Rochester Institute of Technology where she earned her B.S.in Technical Writing and an M.S. in Instructional Design. To her credit and pride, she completed all her higher education as an adult learner while working full time. She worked for over 20 years at Rochester Telephone Company in a variety of roles, culminating in the chance to use the web design and instructional design skills gained in graduate school. She retired and started her own web design business, offering small businesses many of the sophisticated tools that were previously reserved to large companies. She built an international team of developers to produce many cutting-edge products for her clients. She was born to George J McGrath and Monica Dunlay McGrath, both deceased. She is survived by her sister Suzanne McGrath Jensen, nephews James and Timothy, a warm and supportive circle of cousins, special friends Nancy and William Helbling, Paula Cassarino, Ruth Rosenberg-Naparsteck and Margaret Raymond, and a wide circle of friends made through work or college. Colleen and her “Blarney” license plate will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services and Interment will be held privately.
