Obituary of Susan Jacobsmeier
Born, Susanna Kiewlin, in Meriden Connecticut in 1919. Died peacefully Sept. 6, 2011. Susan married Lambert H. Jacobsmeier in 1943. Lambert predeceased Susan in 1992. Survived by children, Ann Jacobsmeier of Penn Yan, Lambert (Judith) Jacobsmeier of Honeoye Falls , Carol (Paul) Inderbitzin of Philadelphia, Antoinette (Dennis “Chet”) Baron of Canandaigua and Paul (Mary) Jacobsmeier of Avon; sister, Theresa Sima; sisters-in-law Laverne Jacobsmeier, Irene Jacobsmeier, and Evangeline Kiewlen; brother-in-law Eddie Iwanicki; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandsons.
Lambert H. being career Navy, Susan and family lived over the course of Susan’s life near several Navy ports – also briefly in Lee County, Iowa. Susan and Lambert H. settled in the Rochester area after Lambert H.’s last Navy assignment ( University of Rochester). For several years, Susan was a nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital where she loved working on the maternity floor. During their vibrant retirement years, Lambert H. and Susan enjoyed their association with the Henrietta Senior Citizens group and participated in the group’s volunteer endeavors.
No prior calling. Family and friends of Susan will celebrate Susan’s life with a Catholic Mass at 10 AM, Saturday, Sept. 10th (St. John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport). Interment: Mendon Cemetery. Donations in Susan’s memory may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Assoc. or a charity of choice.
