John Frank Mars
Rochester, New York: John F. Mars, 88 died peacefully on September 16, 2011. Born on August 17, 1923 John was one of thirteen children. He was married and predeceased by his wife Matilda (Salvi). He is survived by his six children Bonita French, Jack Mars, Susan Mars, Mary Ellen Latour, Gary Mars, Jeffrey Mars; his sister Anna Calveric, Tom Dlugosh (Janice), Virginia Lott and sister in-law Antoinette Schreib; his grandchildren Aimee, Enoch, Kristen, Rachael, Katie, Justin, Sean, Christina, Spencer, Haley, and Ryan; his great grandchildren Paul, Anthony, Nina, Julianna, Gianna, and many nieces and nephews. All will miss his ready smile and gentle teasing.
John served his country during WWII, graduated from Ohio State University, was a Lieutenant in the Rochester City Fire Department, and owned and operated H&M Contractors. In his retirement years he worked @ B&L Wholesale Supply INC. John was active at the VFW in Bath, NY and Rochester, NY. He was a member of St. Boniface Church and the St. Boniface Men’s Club.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the VA, Wolk Manor, Jewish Home, and Hospice for their friendship, loving care, and compassion.

A Memorial Mass will be held on SATURDAY November 12th at 10 AM at Saint Boniface Church, 330 Gregory Street. Click for a map to the church.
